Beauty and the Beast is a traditional fairy tale written by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and published in 1740 in La Jeune Américaine et les contes marins (The young American and Marine Tales).
The Beauty and the Beast is a warm story about the power of love. The beauty comes from the inside and outer looks meant nothing to the main character.
In this story Beast is transformed into a man, but Beauty fell in love with him while he was a beast.

Beauty lived with her two sisters and her father. They had a good life, but one day her father lost his fortune. They had to move into a smaller home.
Her father saw a chance to return his money when ships return. Sisters wanted all kind of beautiful and expensive things and beauty only a rose.
However, her father got lost and he suddenly found himself in the castle. He picked one beautiful rose. Then the beast came and said that he would let him go only if sent one of his daughters to him. He told this story to Beauty and she accepted.
She had a good life there. She never saw the beast, she only heard his voice.
One night he showed himself and she was a little scared. They started to see each other because she heard sadness in his tone of voice. Beauty wanted to see her father again and the beast let her.
Her father was ill and she was looking after him. She had a dream that Beast was dying. Beast gave her a ring which could take her back to the palace. When she returned, Beast was ill. She accepted to marry him.
Beast became a prince and he told her a story how a fairy had put a spell on him and it could be broken only if a girl fell in love with him. In the end they had a wedding.

The Beast was actually a prince. He believed in a true love, but a fairy had enchanted him. In the end Beauty fell in love with him while he was in a form of a beast and that was a proof of a true love.
